I was called a cynic yesterday. Am I cynical? Maybe I am.
Cynical of the old bullshit, cynical of the new bullshit. Cynical of the big visions that miss the small details. Cynical of the huge egoism. Cynical of lazy journalists and weekend experts. Cynical of change that claims to be innovation but isn’t. Cynical of solutions that don’t solve. Cynical of the ivory towers. Cynical of central control. Cynical of people who say they hear me but never ever listen. Cynical of broadcasters. Cynical of the over promises. Cynical of the under delivering and cynical of people who really should know better.
But I am also so cynical that I offer my hand out to anyone who wants it. So cynical that I share relevant value. So cynical that I let others speak first. So cynical that I do actual proper listening. So cynical that I try to build and share valuable stuff. So cynical that I let people find out, all on their own. So cynical that I try to help others overcome their obstacles. So cynical that I try to kill the fear that others feel. So cynical that I choose to walk not talk. So cynical that I offer real things to real people to solve their real problems. So cynical that I believe truly, madly, deeply in the future and what it offers to all of us.
So cynical that I believe we cannot create a future without respecting our past.
Cynical…yeah that’s me.
If you share my cynicism then let’s walk together.”
